Fundraising off to a good start

The 21 season is off to a great start and our fundraising efforts are in high gear. We ran an online "Snap! Raise" and exceeded our goal with the help of family and friends. We are in the middle of one of our biggest fundraisers, Banner Sales.  With the support of O'Charley's, we hosted our first car wash, with a second planned for August 7th. Come get your car washed to support Lafayette Cheer. from 9am to 1pm. Check out the photo deck

UCA Camp - News

We began the season with UCA cheer camp,  The kids spent 32 hours over the course of four days at UK. Our 5 Seniors were named All-American  and ask to join the UCA staff! The kids worked hard, winning two blue ribbons, the coveted banana (1 of the 4 days), and trophies for, 1st in Cheer, 3rd in Sideline and Overall Routine and Superior Team. We would also like to thank Chick-fil-A, Jersey Mike's and Fazolis for the food donations so we could feed the kids dinner during the three 12-hour. As always we thank our coaches and parents for their support.  Check out the photo deck

LHS Cheer says goodbye to 6 seniors

Lafayette Cheer loses six amazing seniors who were part of the LHS cheer family since they were Freshman.

Coed team leaders Will Ketz and Carter True were the backbone of the team for several years and we will miss their leadership.

All girls varsity seniors, MaKenna Goff, Morgan Robinson, Elizabeth Shainfield were excellent mentors and leaders for the team. We will miss them all! Check out the Senior Salute

Coed cheerleaders featured in school paper

Freshman Coed Cheerleader Destiny Davidson is featured in the Lafayette Times. The article is written by fellow coed teammate Bradley Dedman. Destiny shares her thoughts on the difficulties of virtual school and how being on the cheerleading team made the virtual school during the pandemic more tolerable.  See the photo deck Read more at the  Lafayette Times

Coed team wins regionals

For the second year in a row our Coed team bested the East Jessamine team and advanced to State. The East team usually has up to 10 boys on their team, so they are able to perform more one man stunts. What gives our Coed team an edge is that our team performs well under pressure and often "HITS Zero", meaning our team has no stunt falls, tumbling passes all land and no one violated any safety rules.

Historically, LHS has been one of the few Fayette County Schools with a Coed competition team. Sadly, in 2021 we did not get enough boys trying out to make a Competition Coed Team.  We hope to return to the tradition in years to come and encourage boys to come  try out for our team.  Look for tryout details in April or May of 2022. EKU participated in Virtual UCA Nationals. The Coed Team and the All Girl Team both won their division titles - College UCA National Champions!

We are so proud of Drue DotsonTaryn Ashford, and Taylor Ashford for helping EKU bring home the title!! Way to go girls!
